Certificate

Certificate

Ownership is in the form of a "Certificate of Membership" rather than a deed. The Membership Certificate specifies which boat slip the holder is entitled to use. The member may typically sell the certificate to another party or back to the Membership at Large, which in effect transfers or conveys the slip to another party. (Membership Certificate boat slip examples: Bradley Creek Marina & Boataminium, Atlantic Yacht Club) Membership Certificates are not considered real property although they control the use of the boat slip.
